An Ordinance to further amend The Prison
Ordinance,1885,"
anu I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not
contrary to the Governor's Instructions.
I understand the appointment of the Deputy
Superintendent of Police to be Assistant Superintendent of
the Gaol has been already approved by the Secretary of
State.
This Ordinance is passed to prevent any
point arising as to whether the words "Superintendent of
Prisons" in clause (a) of Section 1 of Ordinance 18 of 1885
covered the appointment of an "Assistant Superintendent".
